We have an excellent opportunity for a General Assistant / Instructor to join our team at Dinton Activity Centre, on a casual, zero-hours basis.

As General Assistant / Instructor, you will deliver engaging land and water-based activity sessions, ensuring safe and enjoyable experiences for all participants. You'll promote health and safety standards, uphold safeguarding policies, and maintain equipment and facilities while providing a warm welcome and positive interaction with guests.

This role requires practical skills in outdoor activities, strong understanding of water safety and rescue procedures, and effective collaboration with colleagues, the events team, and country park services to ensure smooth centre operations.

You'll assist with evening programmes, event set-up and delivery, and commit to ongoing personal development through training and feedback while maintaining compliance with health, safety, and safeguarding requirements.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive, customer-focused professional with experience in activity centres, hospitality venues, or outdoor education to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead outdoor activity sessions (Qualifications Required - RYA Dinghy Instructors, BCAB Paddlesport Instructor or MT Climbing Wall Instructor)
  • Ensure high standards of health, safety, and safeguarding
  • Welcome and support guests to enhance their experience
  • Help maintain equipment and activity areas
  • Support events and evening programmes
  • Work flexibly, including weekends and busy periods

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience in a customer-facing or team-based role
  • Confidence working with groups, including children and young people
  • A proactive, positive attitude

As a casual worker you are entitled to Annual Leave, based on the number of hours worked and will accrue Annual Leave at a rate of 14.49% of hours worked, this is subject to change. Casual workers have the opportunity to opt into our pension scheme where contributions will be deducted accordingly.
