Greater Lincolnshire Combined County Authority (GLCCA)

Help Shape the Future of Greater Lincolnshire

This is an exciting opportunity to join the newly established Greater Lincolnshire Combined County Authority (GLCCA) at a pivotal time in its development.

We are looking for a talented, creative and proactive Communications Officer to help tell the story of one of the UK's most ambitious devolved areas. Working at the heart of the organisation, you'll support communications for major investment programmes, housing initiatives, economic growth projects and the work of the Mayor and elected members.

You'll play a key role in building the profile and reputation of Greater Lincolnshire, helping ensure our messages reach and engage our audiences, including over 1.1 million residents, 39,000 businesses and more than 32 million annual visitors.

Why Join Us?

This is more than a communications role. It's an opportunity to influence the future of Lincolnshire and make a visible impact.

You'll benefit from:

  • Working directly with the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and senior leadership team.
  • Helping shape a newly established Combined County Authority.
  • Leading high-profile regional communications campaigns.
  • Supporting major housing, infrastructure and economic growth programmes.
  • Building relationships with stakeholders across local government, business, education and the public sector.
  • Being part of a small, ambitious and supportive communications team.

The Role

As Communications Officer, you'll be responsible for delivering creative, engaging and impactful communications across a wide range of channels.

You will:

  • Develop and implement communications and marketing campaigns.
  • Draft news releases, feature articles, speeches and stakeholder communications.
  • Manage media enquiries and build positive relationships with journalists.
  • Create engaging content for digital platforms, websites and social media.
  • Support high-profile announcements, visits, events and campaigns.
  • Provide professional communications advice to senior officers, elected members and project teams.
  • Develop visual content, videos and marketing materials.
  • Monitor campaign performance and evaluate communications effectiveness.
  • Work with partners across local authorities, education providers, businesses and government agencies to coordinate messaging and maximise impact.

About You

We're looking for someone who combines excellent communications skills with creativity, political awareness and sound judgement.

You'll be a confident communicator who can spot opportunities, create compelling content and build strong relationships. Whether responding to a media enquiry, developing a campaign or supporting a major regional announcement, you'll be able to think strategically while delivering at pace.

Most importantly, you'll share our ambition to champion Greater Lincolnshire and help communicate the opportunities that devolution, investment and partnership working can bring to our communities and businesses.
