About The Role

We are looking for a talented designer to join our small team to create high-quality, accessible and on-brand materials across a range of digital and print channels.

You will work on a varied mix of projects, including:

  • Campaign artwork and promotional materials
  • Social media graphics and digital content
  • Brochures, leaflets, posters and adverts
  • Presentations and other branded communications

You will be creative, collaborative and confident using Adobe Creative Cloud, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to take a project from initial idea through to finished artwork.

If you are bursting with creative ideas, enjoy bringing brands to life and can balance creativity with excellent attention to detail, we’d love to hear from you.

Your Application

In order to be considered for shortlisting, your application will clearly evidence the following skills and align with our behaviours:

  • Strong graphic design and layout skills
  • A strong understanding of branding and visual consistency
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Confidence working collaboratively with colleagues and responding to creative briefs

To apply, we request that you submit a CV and you will be asked the following 4 questions:

  1. Talk us through a design project you’re particularly proud of. What was the brief, what was your creative approach, and how did you develop the final design?
  2. Imagine you’ve been asked to create a campaign across social media, a printed leaflet and a digital advert. How would you ensure the campaign feels consistent while making the design work effectively for each format?
  3. Tell us about a time when a client or colleague asked you to make significant changes to a design you had created. How did you approach the feedback?
  4. You have several design requests competing for your attention, all with different deadlines and stakeholders. How would you organise and prioritise your workload while maintaining the quality of your work?

Before submitting your application, we recommend you read the job description and our Life at Surrey handbook to get an insight into working at Surrey.
