North Lincolnshire is changing the way it works.

We are building a more agile, efficient and joined-up council, focused on better outcomes for our residents, stronger places and better use of public resources.
Our assets are central to that transformation.

We are looking for an exceptional Head of Assets to lead the next phase of our corporate landlord model and reshape how we manage, maintain and use our property, land and operational estate.

This is a significant leadership role with responsibility across strategic asset management, property, corporate landlord, construction and maintenance, facilities management, health and safety, catering and cleaning, corporate compliance and leisure compliance.

But this is not simply about managing buildings.

It is about asking more fundamental questions.

Are our assets supporting the outcomes we want to achieve?
Are we using them efficiently?
Are they safe, compliant and sustainable?
Could they work harder for our communities?
Should we invest, repurpose, dispose, share or sometimes stop doing things altogether?

We want someone who is comfortable making those decisions.

You will lead a substantial workforce, oversee significant revenue and capital investment and work closely with senior leaders across the council to create a genuinely corporate approach to our estate.

A key part of the role will be continuing the transformation of our property and facilities functions — reducing unnecessary cost, improving productivity, strengthening compliance and introducing smarter ways of working, including digital solutions, condition-based maintenance and more effective use of our internal capability.

You will also play an important role in shaping our wider place ambitions, working alongside planning and development colleagues to unlock land and property for regeneration, housing, employment and community use.

We are looking for someone who can combine professional credibility with commercial thinking and strong leadership.

You will need to be able to operate confidently in a complex organisation, understand risk and compliance, lead change at scale and bring people with you.

Most importantly, you will need to be curious enough to challenge how things have always been done and confident enough to make change happen.
