About the Role
Liverpool City Region Destination Partnership (LCRDP) is the Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP) for Liverpool City Region. It is responsible for promoting the city and wider region as a global destination for visitors, conventions and investment. It is responsible for communicating the city’s brand positively and imaginatively to local, national and global audiences. It works with partners in business, cultural organisations, educational institutions and community groups to promote the city region as a great place to live, work, visit, invest and study.
Liverpool City Region Destination Partnership ensures Liverpool City Region can compete with other core cities, increase appeal, attract major events of national/international profile and increase visitor numbers, economic impact and global media coverage – to unlock the true potential of one of the UK’s most powerful attack brands.
As Head of Culture, you will provide strategic leadership for culture across the Liverpool City Region, working collaboratively across all six boroughs to maximise the social, cultural and economic impact of the visitor economy. You will shape and deliver a place‑based, partnership‑led programme that celebrates the region’s cultural strengths, supports businesses and communities, and positions the City Region as a leading national and international destination for culture and major events. The role will lead the development of key strategies, oversee the delivery of major cultural initiatives, secure external investment, and ensure culture is embedded across wider growth, regeneration and policy agendas in line with Mayoral priorities and the Destination Management Plan.
About the person
We are looking for a strategic, collaborative and highly credible cultural leader with a strong track record in the culture and visitor economy sector. You will bring deep experience of place‑based working, partnership development and the delivery of large‑scale cultural programmes, alongside the ability to translate vision into practical, high‑impact outcomes. Confident working across political, public, private and voluntary sectors, you will be skilled at building trust, influencing stakeholders and securing external funding. A clear communicator and persuasive advocate for culture, you will be passionate about the role culture plays in driving inclusive growth, supporting communities and strengthening the Liverpool City Region’s national and international profile.
You will support the objectives of the strategic framework for the visitor economy across the city region. The Destination Management Plan is the guiding compass for promotion and delivery within a new funding and governance landscape

1. Proven senior‑level experience leading strategy and delivering large‑scale cultural or visitor‑economy programmes, with a clear understanding of how culture drives place‑making, economic growth and regional identity.
2. Extensive experience of complex, multi‑partner working across local government, public bodies, private sector, funders and the voluntary and community sector, with the ability to influence, align priorities and deliver collective impact.
3. A strong track record of taking initiatives from concept to delivery, including securing and managing external funding, overseeing significant budgets, and ensuring tangible outcomes and value for money.

Salary range
- £59,311 - £70,405 per year
