The Hertfordshire Home Improvement Agency (HHIA) is a fast-paced, multi-district partnership dedicated to enhancing the quality of lives through home adaptations and improvements.
We're an innovative partnership with six districts coming together to provide a service that supports the independence of local residents. Working closely with local and central government, HHIA delivers high-quality services that promote independence and implement best practices.
About the role
This is a unique opportunity for a dedicated and proactive person join our fast-paced DFG adaptations and income generating service. We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and organised person, who can deliver consistent high levels of managerial support. You will join a friendly, dedicated and inclusive team.
You will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of home adaptations and improvements, as well as liaising with stakeholders such as local councils, contractors, and the people we support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage the service’s operations, monitoring KPI’s to ensure adaptations are delivered on time and within budget.
- Oversee a team of staff and contractors, including recruitment, training, and performance reviews.
- Work with local and central government to secure funding and grants.
- Provide high-quality advice and consultation services to Hertfordshire residents.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant regulations and quality standards.
- Prepare reports and updates for senior management, the Partnership Board and external stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities, develop and implement strategic plans to take the Agency forward.
- Ensure the Agency delivers to the Board’s expectations of quality, timescales and budget spend.
About you
Essential:
- A degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Management, Engineering) or equivalent experience
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Familiarity with home adaptations, Disabled Facilities Grants, building regulations and associated legislation
- Budget management experience
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Desirable:
- Experience of working with people with disabilities or long-term health conditions
- Experience of applied use of social care legislation
