Head of Risk and Assurance
Summary
What you'll do
At Notting Hill Genesis (NHG), our aim is to embed a robust risk and assurance approach that supports our strategy to deliver better services for residents, ensures strong assurance over business-critical processes and information, and enables the early identification and management of risks.
As Head of Risk and Assurance, you will lead and champion this vision, driving a pragmatic, agile and forward-looking approach to risk management. You will ensure that assurance activities add real value, helping leaders make informed decisions, manage risks proactively, and meet regulatory and governance standards.
How you'll make a difference
Your work will give our leadership, Audit and Risk Committee, and residents confidence that NHG is effectively identifying, managing and mitigating key risks. By drawing together multiple sources of assurance - from internal audit findings to tenant feedback and specialist audits - you will help tell a clear "assurance story" that shows how well we are managing our obligations. This will directly support better decision-making, stronger compliance, and improved services for our residents.
How you'll do it
- Develop and deliver NHG's risk and assurance framework, ensuring it aligns with our vision, mission and values.
- Embed effective and proportionate risk management across NHG, enabling managers to take informed and timely decisions.
- Manage and coordinate assurance activities, while maintaining the independence of the internal audit function.
- Draw together and report on assurance from multiple sources (internal audit, sustainability audits, data audits, management information, tenant feedback, specialist reviews) to provide a comprehensive picture of assurance against key risks.
- Provide high-quality reporting and insight to the Audit and Risk Committee, the Executive Team and other governance bodies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the Audit and Risk Committee, CEO, internal audit provider, and sector peers.
- Lead, develop and motivate your team to reach their full potential, fostering an inclusive, empowered and high-performing culture.
- Drive continuous improvement in risk and assurance processes, identifying opportunities to streamline, simplify and add value.
- Keep abreast of emerging risks, sector trends, and best practice in risk and assurance, reporting to key governance bodies on developments, adapting NHG's approach accordingly and providing assurance that NHGs risk and assurance activities remain fit for purpose.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant NHG and statutory policies and procedures, including health and safety and financial regulations.
- Ensure that you follow and keep up to date with all relevant Notting Hill Genesis and statutory policies and related procedures including health and safety and financial regulations.
- Hybrid arrangements apply - a minimum of three days per week in the office, with home working possible on other days where appropriate.
