We are looking for a Head of Service to lead the Children in Care Service where you will join our Children in Care leadership team.

About you.

  • You will need to have an understanding of how to include our service users, partners and staff in our journey to outstanding.
  • You will need to have the ability to think ahead, scan opportunities and innovation to improve the outcomes for young people, whilst ensuring effectiveness of the managers and workers in delivering good practice.
  • You will have the skills to build relationships with key partners to understand and fulfil their corporate parenting responsibilities to our young people.

Our most recent Ofsted Focused visit (Nov24) found :

  • Many children benefit from meaningful relationships with social workers who have taken time to build strong and caring relationships with them. Social workers demonstrate a real curiosity and passion to ensure they listen to children and are effective in meeting their needs.

Caseloads are manageable and social workers report that they are busy, but they feel well supported in their practice. Consequently, social workers are able to develop meaningful relationships with children.
