The successful applicant will be subject to the conditions of employment for Headteachers contained in the School Teachers Pay and Conditions document 2025 and other current education and employment legislation.

The post is exempt from Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 And the successful applicant will require an enhanced DBS check. As the post will involve regulated activity with children, it is a criminal offence to apply for this post if you are included on the children’s barred list held by the DBS. Other safer recruitment checks including online check for shortlisted candidates will be undertaken.
The children, staff and governors of Winsford High Street Primary School are looking for a new Headteacher to start in September 2026 to follow in the footsteps of the long-standing Headteacher who is retiring. We are seeking a Headteacher who will build on our school’s many strengths and lead us with vision, integrity, and energy into the next stage of our development. The successful candidate will be someone who values collaboration, inclusion, and creativity, and who can inspire both staff and pupils to achieve excellence.
The children want a Headteacher who is kind, happy, will do activities with them and is respectful. They should be a good listener, know a lot about dinosaurs, let everyone participate and is accepting of everyone. They will be supportive, musical and have a passion for sport.
The staff are looking for a leader who is visionary, compassionate and approachable. They will be a good communicator, able to understand the local area, fair and leads by example.
Governors seek a leader who can support and empower staff to achieve their best, foster a culture of continuous improvement and celebrate success. They will be visible, approachable, and supportive within the school community and value partnerships, working with governors, parents, and local organisations and communities for the success of the young people in their care.
