Make a Difference in Lancaster
Join us as a Health and Safety Advisor and play a vital role in fostering a positive health and safety culture across Lancaster City Council. You will support the development and delivery of initiatives that ensure legal compliance and promote continuous improvement, helping to safeguard our community and environment.

What You’ll Be Doing
You will manage document control, organise meetings, and create clear, accessible health and safety materials such as toolbox talks and procedures. Your role includes reviewing accident reports, conducting risk and COSHH assessments, carrying out inspections and audits, and supporting health and safety managers. You’ll contribute to policy development and provide practical advice to staff, helping to embed a culture of safety throughout the organisation.

You’ll Fit Right In If…
You hold or are working towards IOSH Managing Safely and NEBOSH General Certificate qualifications, with relevant health and safety experience. You’re confident in risk assessment, legislation interpretation, and delivering engaging training. Your excellent communication and organisational skills, combined with a collaborative and proactive approach, align with our values of Working Together, Ambition, Pride, and Ownership. A full UK driving licence or ability to travel between sites is desirable.
