St Helens Borough Council is looking to recruit a Health & Care Engagement Officer.
This is an exciting and impactful role that sits at the heart of our work to improve health, wellbeing, and care outcomes across St Helens. The Health & Care Engagement Officer will play a key role in connecting public health and adult social care initiatives with local communities, ensuring that residents’ voices shape the services and support they receive.

Roles That Matter
About the Role
The postholder will work closely with service users, residents, and stakeholders to:
- Build trusted relationships and strengthen the voice of local people, especially those who are seldom heard.
- Promote key health and care messages and deliver targeted campaigns.
- Enable more conversations about tackling health inequalities and exploring what good health means to our communities.
The role will work alongside the Community Engagement and Partnerships Lead to ensure alignment with our strategic approach to listening and learning from local people. It will make the most of our developing relationships and connections with a diverse range of communities, including those we have historically struggled to hear.
This role champions co-production, inclusion, and community-led approaches that support prevention, independence, and improved quality of life. You will ensure engagement is inclusive, accessible, and responsive to the diverse needs of our population.
About You
We are looking for someone who is passionate about community engagement and improving health outcomes. You will need excellent communication and relationship-building skills, the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of partners, and a commitment to reducing health inequalities. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential.

Salary range
- £34,434 - £36,363 per year
