32.5 hours per week - 39 weeks per year

Kingsway Primary School is seeking to appoint a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and committed team. We would like to invite candidates to apply for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant post in our school. This is a fixed term contract to begin with, due to budget limitations, but has the potential to be extended.
The role involves working with groups of children, or individuals, both inside and outside of the classroom. This role will also involve some whole class teaching to cover absences due to staff training or illness. The successful candidate will have experience of working in a primary school in a similar role, have experiencing successfully managing whole-classes and understand positive behaviour strategies which motivate and engage learners. An ability to use your own initiative and work effectively as part of a team is essential. You will support the children to develop emotional literacy and build self-esteem, social communication skills and social skills including interaction during play. You will encourage independence and support the child in learning to manage their emotions and routines, whilst also supporting their academic progress.
We are seeking candidates who are willing to learn and can offer patience, resourcefulness and resilience and who can completely commit to the values and ethos of our inclusive school. Experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs would be advantageous.
