As The Observatory School grows we are adding to a team which has high expectations and sets high standards for both pupils and colleagues. We are now recruiting a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work alongside our provision by providing Literacy support to our expanding team and pupils.
The role of the HLTA is to complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision.
This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups or short term for whole classes and monitoring pupils and assessing, recording and reporting on pupils¿ achievement, progress and development.
The Governors are looking to appoint a well qualified, highly motivated, enthusiastic and innovative HLTA who will support our growing provision and expanding team across our three school sites - Vyner Campus, Leasowe Campus and Solar Campus (Key Stages 2, 3 and 4).
You will play a key part in this journey by supporting a team of Assistant Headteachers, Heads of School, Executive Headteacher and Governors in the delivery of the schools primary aims and objectives.
Your knowledge, skills and experience are important, but so will be your emotional intelligence and resilience.
Expectations are high, challenges you have never faced before will come from all directions and the expectation will be on you to meet them in line with the vision of school.
The Observatory School is an extraordinary place of work and to meet our team's expectations, you will be an extraordinary individual with a proven track record.
In return we offer the opportunity to work with our area's most extraordinary children, we will say, the area's most resilient, cohesive and supportive staff team and where a working day is never the same as the last.
The school is truly a remarkable place and if you feel you would like to embark on the adventure, please take the opportunity visit the school before application.
This can be arranged by emailing Kate Smith - HR Manager recruitment@theobservatoryschool.wirral.sch.uk
Closing date for the vacancy is 11th July 2025 at noon with commencement date of 1st September 2025, although this is negotiable.
Due to high volumes of applications, the school will be operating a rolling interview process whereby candidates may be invited to interview following receipt of their application should the essential criteria be met.
