We are looking for a passionate and resilient individual who is committed to helping every child achieve their full potential. This role will involve supporting teaching and learning across the school, working closely with teachers, support staff and the SENDCO to provide high-quality support for pupils, including those with significant and complex additional needs.

Lift Anglesey is a large and thriving primary school with over 600 pupils and is part of Lift Schools, a national trust committed to providing an excellent education in every classroom, every day. About the Role

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will work in partnership with teachers to improve pupils' learning, attainment and wellbeing. You will support the planning and delivery of learning, lead interventions, cover lessons when required and help create an engaging and inclusive environment where all pupils can succeed.

This role will have a particular focus on supporting pupils with SEND and complex learning needs, helping to ensure they can access learning, develop independence and make meaningful progress.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Delivering planned learning activities and interventions to individuals and groups of pupils
    • Covering lessons as part of planned and unplanned teacher absence
    • Supporting teachers with lesson preparation, delivery and assessment
    • Leading targeted interventions to support pupil progress
    • Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs
    • Building positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues
    • Supporting the development and wellbeing of pupils both academically and socially
    • Assisting with the management and development of Teaching Assistants where required
    • Contributing to a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment

    What We Are Looking For

We would particularly welcome applications from candidates who:

    • Hold a Level 3 HLTA qualification (or equivalent)
    • Have experience working with children or young people in an educational setting
    • Have experience supporting pupils with SEND
    • Have experience working with children who have significant and complex needs
    • Are patient, empathetic and able to build positive relationships with children
    • Can adapt their approach to meet a wide range of learning and developmental needs
    • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Are resilient and able to remain calm in challenging situations
    • Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
    • Can work effectively as part of a wider school team

This role requires a candidate who is confident in supporting pupils with additional needs and who understands that success for every child looks different. Experience supporting children with significant and complex SEND needs will be a distinct advantage.
