If so, our Highways and Transport Liaison Officer role could be for you.


About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in improving bus reliability and network performance across Lincolnshire.

You will act as the main link between Highways, Transport Services, bus operators, utility companies and other stakeholders, helping to ensure that roadworks and other activities are well planned, well communicated and minimise disruption for passengers and bus operators.


Your work will focus on:

  • Co-ordinating highways and transport activity to reduce disruption
  • Building strong, collaborative relationships with partners
  • Planning ahead to identify and manage network risks and pressures
  • Supporting the management of systems such as Causeway One Network
  • Managing the temporary bus stop process
  • Improving communication with stakeholders and the travelling public

You will also play an important role in embedding initiatives such as the Lincolnshire Street Works Charter and Bus Passenger Charter, helping to drive better outcomes for customers.


About You

We are looking for someone who can bring a mix of technical understanding, collaboration and problem-solving skills.

You will:

  • Have experience in highways, transport, street works co-ordination or a related field
  • Understand how roadworks, traffic management and public transport interact
  • Be able to analyse information and identify practical solutions
  • Communicate clearly with a wide range of people, including partners and stakeholders
  • Be assured working in a fast-paced environment and managing competing priorities
  • Be comfortable influencing others and challenging constructively

A relevant qualification (e.g. HNC/HND or equivalent experience) or demonstratable experience is essential.

Most importantly, you will be committed to improving services and delivering positive outcomes for residents and transport users across Lincolnshire.

You will be given a nominated contractual work base and you will be required to commute to this work base when necessary. Working arrangements regarding hybrid working will be discussed as part of the appointment process.

Our technology platform and equipment is very good enabling you to connect and collaborate remotely. We require that you have in place good connectivity, and we will discuss during the recruitment process if support with this is needed.
