Lordship Lane Primary School is seeking an exceptional and dedicated HLTA to take a lead role in the day-to-day delivery of our Alternative Provision for pupils with SEND, SEMH and additional needs.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled practitioner who is passionate about inclusion and believes that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed.
Working under the direction of the SENDCo, you will provide a safe, structured and nurturing environment for pupils who require additional support to engage successfully with learning. You will work with small groups and individual pupils, helping them to develop confidence, emotional regulation, resilience and positive learning behaviours whilst delivering personalised learning activities tailored to their needs.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has substantial experience working with pupils with SEND and additional needs.
- Has experience supporting pupils with SEMH, Autism, ADHD and behavioural needs.
- Can build strong, positive relationships with children and families.
- Is calm, resilient and able to respond effectively to challenging situations.
- Can create a nurturing and purposeful learning environment.
- Has excellent behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
- Can work effectively with teachers, support staff, external professionals and parents.
- Is committed to ensuring that all pupils feel valued, included and successful.
The successful candidate will:
- Take a lead role in the day-to-day delivery of the school’s Alternative Provision under the direction of the SENDCo.
- Deliver personalised learning and intervention programmes for individual pupils and small groups.
- Support pupils to develop positive learning behaviours, emotional regulation and independence.
- Work closely with the SENDCo, teachers and wider inclusion team to implement support plans and provision.
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute to reviews and assessments.
- Support pupils’ successful engagement in mainstream learning where appropriate.
- Build positive relationships with parents, carers and external professionals.
- Support and coordinate the work of other adults working within the provision where required.
- Contribute to the school’s inclusive ethos and high expectations for all pupils.
