We are recruiting a Homelessness Prevention Officer at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organization.

We pay an attractive salary of £28,598 - £31,022 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team in the role of Homelessness Prevention Officer.

We are seeking someone who is passionate about homelessness and housing and can manage a case load. You will be solutions focused to support us in achieving prevention outcomes.

The post holder will provide a first response service to all phone enquiries and visitors to the Housing Advice Centre in relation to their actual or potential homelessness situation. You will provide practical advice on seeking a sustainable housing solution through the assessment of the client’s homelessness (actual or threatened) status.

For the role, we ask that you have:

  • A relevant Level 2 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales, for example, NVQ2 Administration, GCSEs Grade A*-C.
  • A working knowledge of the local housing market, the private rented sector and the standards of private rented accommodation.
  • Proven experience of working in a busy office environment involving direct contact with the public.
