Role Summary
As a Home Straight Coordinator, you will deliver high-quality, flexible, and personalised support to Dover District Council tenants exhibiting hoarding behaviours. Your goal is to reduce risks, improve wellbeing, and empower customers to make positive choices for a healthier life.

What will you be doing?
Role Specific Responsibilities
•Hold a caseload of customers
•Identify and address immediate safety hazards.
•Build trust and maintain professional boundaries.
•Conduct needs and risk assessments, support plans, and Clutter Image Rating Scale (CIRS).
•Identify root causes of hoarding and refer to specialist services.
•Engage customers in decision-making about their home and possessions.
•Maintain accurate case records in data management systems.
•Provide structured support sessions with each customer to achieve agreed goals.
•Develop relationships with partner agencies and encourage family involvement.
•Signpost customers to external services for additional support.
•Promote Home Straight service to professionals and agencies.
•Follow lone working policies and safeguarding protocols.
•Ensure confidentiality, dignity, and compliance with data protection.
•Attend training, team meetings, and identify personal development needs.
•Adhere to health and safety and equal opportunities policies.
•Collaborate with other Town & Country Housing teams and undertake additional duties as required.
General

·•This role requires the individual to travel to various sites, and it is therefore expected that an individual in this role has a full driving licence and access to a car with relevant insurance.

About You
Education & Qualifications
•Evidence of a good educational standard, including GCSE English and Maths - Essential
•A satisfactory enhanced DBS check is required for this role - Essential
•Full driving licence and access to insured vehicle. Personal vehicles need to be insured for business use - Essential
Key Skills & Competencies
•Experience of providing support to the designated customer group either in a volunteering or paid role - Desirable
•Strong organisational and time management skills, able to arrange and manage workload demands, determine priority tasks, meet tight deadlines and achieve goals - Essential
•Up to date knowledge of welfare benefits for the designated customer group - Desirable
•Knowledge of local support services and referral pathways - Essential
•Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) - Essential
