Hours:

  • 15 hours per week to be worked at Askes Court Hoxton Close, Tythe Barn Lane, Singleton, Ashford, Kent, TN23 5UU
  • 3 hours per week to be worked at Baxendale, Beasley Court, Newtown, Ashford, Kent, TN24 0PT

We are looking for a friendly, reliable Housekeeper to join our Independent Living Team. This role plays an important part in helping us maintain clean, safe and welcoming communal environments for our residents. If you take pride in your work, enjoy supporting older people, and want to make a positive difference every day, we would love to hear from you.

As a Housekeeper, you will work closely with the Independent Living Officer to ensure high standards of cleanliness and organisation across our schemes. You will also act as an important point of contact for residents, helping to maintain a warm and supportive community atmosphere.

You will be responsible for keeping all communal areas clean, tidy and well‑maintained, as well as:

Supporting the Independent Living Officer in maintaining the security of the building.
Acting as a link between residents and the Independent Living Officer, raising any concerns or issues promptly.
Assisting with the organisation of activities and events in the communal lounge.
Ensuring the guest room is clean, prepared and welcoming for visitors.

You will be someone who takes pride in creating a clean, safe and comfortable environment for others and you will enjoy working around older people and be able to build positive, respectful relationships with residents and colleagues so you will need to have:

Good communication skills, both spoken and written.
Ability to work safely and sensitively in an environment with older people.
A common‑sense approach to tasks and problem‑
Some previous housekeeping or cleaning experience.
Ability to liaise with colleagues and report any concerns or issues.
