We are recruiting 2 Housing Advice Officers at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 37 Hours
Contract Type: Full Time, Fixed Term until 31st March 2028
Location: Ty Penallta

Team: Housing Solutions - Housing Advice Centre


This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organisation.

We pay an attractive salary of £31,537- £34,434 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

An opportunity has arisen to join the Housing Solutions Team as a Housing Advice Officer , we ae looking for someone who is resilient , solutions focused and who thrives in a busy environment . You will need to have experience of working in a housing or relevant field and be able to demonstrate effective management of case loads and work with people with complex support needs.

The role includes assessing housing needs and to provide a flexible, responsive and comprehensive housing advice service to persons in housing need, with an emphasis on the prevention of homelessness. You will also Contribute towards meeting the aims and objectives of the Council’s homelessness strategy and help to further develop the policies and procedures of the service in accordance with statutory requirements.

For the role, we ask that you have:

  • Relevant Level 4 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. For example HNC in Housing.
  • Proven experience of working in a busy office environment involving direct contact with the public.
  • An appreciation of health and safety and risk management in relation to lone working.
