Castle Point Borough Council is seeking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Allocations and Temporary Accommodation Officer to deliver a resident focussed, data led, performance driven service.
The role is responsible for the effective allocation of Council homes, including temporary accommodation, in accordance with approved procedures and housing allocations policies to make appropriate and effective nominations to partner Registered Provider partners.
The ideal candidate would have a thorough working knowledge of the relevant housing legislation and regulatory requirements to enable the effective and appropriate operation of the Councils policies and particularly the allocations policy enabling them to provide customer focused and empathetic services to those seeking different types of accommodation with the council or its nominated partners.
We are looking for somebody with excellent written and communication skills who is able to work in a highly pressurised environment, employing management skills to reduce stress.
Advanced knowledge of the relevant Housing Act and regulatory impacts associated with allocating housing assets, knowledge of safeguarding requirements especially in respect of children and vulnerable applicants and experience in completing interviews with applicants seeking housing assistance to obtain the necessary detail and information and provide the necessary advice and support.
The candidate must have a current, full UK driving licence.
