Fixed Term Contract: Apprenticeship – Level 3 Housing & Property Management, 22 months

As a Housing Assistant Apprentice, you’ll gain real, hands‑on experience across all our key operational services. During your apprenticeship, you’ll rotate through teams such as Allocations, Neighbourhoods, Business Support and Repairs, giving you a unique and comprehensive insight into how social housing works from every angle. This broad exposure means you’ll develop practical skills, build confidence working with residents and colleagues, and gain a strong understanding of the full resident journey. It’s the perfect foundation for anyone passionate about starting a long‑term career in housing and making a positive difference in our communities.

What you’ll do

  • Support our neighbourhood teams with admin and resident-facing tasks.
  • Carry out estate inspections to keep communal areas safe and compliant.
  • Help resolve resident enquiries and complaints via phone, email, and face-to-face.
  • Assist at resident surgeries, home visits, viewings, and meetings.
  • Raise repairs and keep records accurate and up to date.
  • Report safeguarding concerns and support local projects.

About you

  • A great communicator who is organised, detail-focused, and eager to learn.
  • Positive, proactive, and resilient with a can-do attitude.
  • Passionate about delivering excellent service and supporting residents.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • You have 5 GCSEs (or equivalent Level 2 qualifications).
  • Some experience in customer service experience (paid or voluntary) is helpful.

  • A Basic DBS check is a requirement of this role.
  • Ability to work from the Ealing Office two days per week and be able to get to our Academy based in Waterloo.

Are You Eligible? Read This First!

To be eligible for this apprenticeship, you must:

  • Be aged 18 or over.
  • Not be in full-time education at the start of the apprenticeship.
  • Not already hold qualifications at the same or a higher level in a similar subject. If you gained your qualifications outside the UK, we’ll need a ENIC translation (www.naric.org.uk)
  • You’ve been living in the UK, the EEA, Switzerland or Gibraltar for the past 3 years (you’ll need to be able to show proof).
  • Your residency status must remain valid for the entire duration of the apprenticeship.

What to expect from our recruitment process

We’re committed to a fair, inclusive, and transparent recruitment process. As part of your application, you’ll answer values-based questions aligned to our principles (listed above), along with multiple-choice scenario questions to help us understand how you approach real-life situations. These responses are an important part of the selection process before interview.

If you meet the eligibility and essential shortlisting criteria, you’ll be invited to attend a virtual screening interview during the week commencing 16–20 February. This will be an opportunity to meet some of our operational managers and learn more about the apprenticeship.

Candidates who are successful at the screening stage will then be invited to attend an assessment day at our Ealing Gateway office on 3 March.

If you are successful, you will then complete the final step before starting your apprenticeship. Our Academy will carry out the apprenticeship programme eligibility activities, which include the BKSB assessment and Skills Scan. These activities help ensure that the apprenticeship is the right fit for your development and learning needs.
