Housing Management Officer

Salary: £29,540 to £37,280 per annum

Grade: Career Grade 7-6

Contract: Temporary, fixed-term (12 months), Full Time (37 hours per week)

Location: Hastings, East Sussex

We’re looking for an experienced, proactive and motivated Housing Management Officer to join our fast‑paced Property Services Team. You’ll be working as part of a friendly and welcoming team, in a dynamic environment which can be both challenging and rewarding. You’ll play a key role in managing our temporary accommodation, supporting residents, and ensuring properties are safe, well‑maintained, and compliant.

What you’ll do

  • Manage a portfolio of properties and tenancies
  • Support the Income Recovery team to address rent arrears
  • Manage ASB and other tenancy management issues
  • Carry out property inspections and ensure Health & Safety compliance
  • Raise safeguarding concerns appropriately where risks or vulnerabilities are identified
  • Coordinate repairs and manage voids efficiently
  • Provide tenancy support to help residents sustain their placements
  • Work closely with contractors, services, and partners

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in housing management, property management, or similar (essential)
  • Knowledge of housing legislation and Health & Safety (desirable)
  • Confidence dealing with ASB, and other tenancy management issues, and navigating challenging situations
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
  • Good organisation and record‑keeping
  • Ability to work independently across a busy caseload
  • Driving licence (essential)
