
Housing Options Advisor
22.2 hours per week, Wednesday to Friday
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Solihull Community Housing’s Housing Options Team as a Housing Advisor, supporting the team to deliver high quality, efficient, and customer focused Housing Options service, supporting individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
The successful candidate will need to be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment dealing with customer enquiries, liaising with external agencies, and carrying out property visits. You must also have good IT skills including working with Microsoft Office, excel spreadsheets and case management systems.
You will be part of a customer facing service responsible for delivering an excellent customer focused Housing Options service which provides a wide range of quality advice and assistance to customers. You will assist the wider team with securing temporary accommodation for homeless households and complete associated paperwork/processes. Ensure temporary accommodation is equipped and suitably available for allocation to the household. This will include visits to determine suitability of any provision.
The post holder will provide:
- A high-quality customer focused service to all our customers
- A proactive approach to early interventions to prevent homelessness
- Support and advice to customers to sustain their current home
- Support to the wider team to meet the requirements set out under the legislative framework of the Homeless Reduction Act 2017

Salary range
- £27,709 - £30,515 per year
