Woking Borough Council has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic person to join our busy and dedicated Housing Standards Team as a Housing Standards Support Officer on a full time, permanent basis.

Reporting to the Senior Housing Standards Officer, in this role you'll be responsible for supporting the improvement of housing standards across the Borough. You will provide advice and guidance to tenants and landlords, administer the licensing of properties within the Borough, arrange visits and inspections to properties, and support officers in taking appropriate enforcement action using a wide range of relevant legislation, including licensing, to reduce hazards in housing in the private sector.

We are looking for someone with experience in administration and an interest in the Private Rented Sector. This is a varied role suited to someone with excellent customer service skills, accuracy in data entry, and enjoys being part of a focused and driven team. It is important that you have a positive and confident outlook, experience of working with diverse client groups and can communicate accurately and effectively with a wide range of people.

In addition to administrative duties, you will also be involved in occasional visits to properties supporting Housing Standards Officers, supporting and attending meetings and forums, and other activities to support the requirements of this dynamic team.
