About us
Camden is listening to everyone, including you.
We’re giving a platform to people inside and outside our community. Because, we’re not just home to the UK’s fast-growing economy. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today. And we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in ensuring that the fostering service provides good quality foster placements that meet the needs of the children and young people.
The role
In this role, you will play an integral part of the Fostering Team by monitoring and reviewing the quality and effectiveness of standards of care provided by the council’s foster carers. This will be done by chairing independent annual and ad hoc fostering review meetings.
You’ll also identify strengths and gaps in the social work foster care assessment process and provision of support offered to carers. Identify practice that is not delivering good outcomes and constructively challenge, informally and formally to improve practice.
About you
A key requirement of this role is to have a Social Work qualification and to be registered with Social Work England.
Ideally, we are looking for a candidate that has extensive experience of chairing complex meetings. Advocacy skills, collaboration with families, internal staff and partner agencies in the professional network are essential. The post holder will be familiar with Camden’s ways of working and will be able to demonstrate an ability to develop in the role. The successful candidate should have senior/managerial experience of leading multiple complex cases and supervision.
