Our Team:
Reporting to the Service Manager, the Software and Applications Development team are a friendly, experienced and pro-active team that have a large skills base that seek to deliver a high standard of development and support across the authority’s Information Systems. As part of the team, you will be involved with, (and manage), a variety of projects and systems that will not only develop your technical skills, but will offer the rare opportunity to work across the full system development lifecycle.
You will be responsible for:
- Developing and maintaining new and existing systems using a variety of development platforms, including but not limited to Microsoft development environments, AI platforms, Open-Source platforms, platforms supplied by 3rd Party systems and specified system integrations.
- Implementing, re-configuring, enhancing and developing a variety of systems (both internal and external) using a variety of languages and tools including but not limited to C, C#, Visual Basic, T-SQL, PL-SQL, Web Applications, PowerShell, and shell scripting.
- Liaising with representatives from across the authority at all levels in order to identify, document and confirm business requirements for new or existing information systems.
- Being the first point of contact for the operation, development, and maintenance of Information Systems specific to your specialism throughout the authority, with an emphasis on excellent customer service.
- Identify issues, and the subsequent research of potential solutions and implementation of said solutions, as well as the adherence to security compliance, system configuration, and documentation standards.
