At SAFS, we are proud to be nationally recognised for our innovative work in tackling fraud across Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. We are now expanding our team and are looking for a new Intelligence Officer to help us go even further in the fight against fraud in local government.

About the role
This is no ordinary desk job. As an Intelligence Officer, you’ll be at the heart of our services to detect and prevent fraud. You will:
- Work closely with councils and housing providers to identify suspicious activity
- Triage allegations of fraud and build intelligence packages that drive investigations.
- Dive into data, spot patterns, and uncover fraud risks.
- Use a range of systems to support proactive and reactive casework.
Every day will bring new challenges—and the chance to make a real difference.
If the role is extended, you’ll also have the chance to complete the Counter Fraud Investigator Level 4 Apprenticeship—a nationally recognised qualification.
Entry requirements for the 2 year apprenticeship are Level 2 English and Maths (GCSE A*-C/9-4 or equivalent). Applicants without this would need to achieve this alongside their apprenticeship before completing their end point assessment. Applicants with a Level 4 or higher qualification in a related area would not be eligible for the Apprenticeship.

- Can travel across the county (a driving licence is essential).
Advantages include:
- Experience in local government or social housing.
- A background in intelligence, investigations, or customer service.
- The ability to prioritise and stay calm and focused under pressure.
Why Join SAFS?
- Be part of a respected, award-winning team.
