Our Team:

The Edge of Care Team is a newly developed service within Halton, designed to provide intensive, relationship-based support to children, young people, and their families at a critical point of need. The team’s primary focus is on preventing family breakdown and reducing the need for children to enter local authority care. Working at the heart of our relationship-based practice model, the Edge of Care Team will deliver timely, responsive, and therapeutic interventions that help families stay together safely. As a key part of Halton’s commitment to positive practice and systemic working, this team will be instrumental in driving better outcomes for children—ensuring they have every opportunity to thrive within their family and community.

Hours: 37hrs per week

Your Contributions:

We are looking for a passionate, nurturing and tenacious professional to join our Edge of Care Team, ‘supporting our children and families staying together’. This will involve you responding to our children and families experiencing acute distress with a primary focus of reducing the likelihood of our children and young people entering Local Authority care. You will work flexibly and swiftly with children, young people and their families / carers, and any relevant agency to ensure risks are mitigated and our children are kept safe.You will demonstrate flexibility and resilience, with strong skills in influencing, negotiating, and developing effective action plans. Excellent communication is essential to this role, so the ability to communicate clearly and confidently—both verbally and in writing—is key

You must be willing to work as part of a rota that includes weekends and out of core hours.
