This role is available as a secondment to internal applicants in line with our secondment policy. About the role
You will:
- manage a team of 13 commercial property surveyors, project and programme managers
- support staff to deliver a professional commercial property service managing the council’s property portfolios
- provide expert advice on all commercial property transactions
To support you, you will be managing two outsourced estate management contracts which deliver the day-to-day estate management of the agricultural and commercial property portfolios.
You will commission commercial property valuations and lead the annual asset valuation process.
You will:
- use your commercial property knowledge and expertise to lead and support your team, manage the outsourced property management contracts and provide professional advice to all services across the council.
- use your knowledge of the commercial property market and valuation to provide strategic advice and recommendations to support decision making and governance.
- use your leadership skills to motivate and develop an experienced professional team to deliver an expert service inclusively.
- have comprehensive experience of managing complex budgets to ensure the successful delivery of income and capital receipts to support the council’s financial plan.
- have effective communication and negotiation skills to allow you to build constructive and collaborative relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Additional information
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.

Salary range
- £62,577 - £68,402 per year
