The Combined Authority is looking for a strategic and visionary Transport Strategy and Policy Manager to lead the development and delivery of our Local Transport and Connectivity Plan. This is an exciting opportunity to influence sustainable, inclusive transport solutions that tackle key regional challenges.

🌍 What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the development and implementation of transport strategies and policies aligned with regional priorities.
  • Oversee key transport projects – from planning to delivery – ensuring they are data-led, sustainable, and integrated.
  • Engage stakeholders from across public, private and voluntary sectors to align and coordinate efforts.

🔍 What We’re Looking For

  • A transport planning or policy professional with in-depth knowledge of multi-modal networks and infrastructure planning.
  • Skilled in strategic programme delivery, stakeholder engagement, and cross-sector collaboration.
  • Proven experience of influencing regional and national transport agendas and securing funding through competitive bidding.

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant degree and/or professional qualifications (TPP, APM, CILT, CIHT, etc.) or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of transport systems, programme delivery, risk and performance management.
  • Experience working across diverse transport sectors, including public transport, logistics, and sustainable mobility.
