Are you an organised, proactive and customer-focused professional looking for an opportunity to make a real difference in your local community? We are seeking a Technical Food & Safety Support Officer to join our Food & Safety Team.

This varied and rewarding role supports the delivery of environmental health services across the district, helping to protect public health, support businesses and ensure compliance with food safety and workplace safety legislation.

Working alongside Environmental Health Officers and other regulatory professionals, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate regulatory records, supporting food safety programmes, managing data and enquiries, coordinating sampling activities and contributing to important public health initiatives.

About the Role
As Technical Food & Safety Support Officer, you will provide technical, administrative and operational support across a range of environmental health functions, including:
• Managing the Alternative Intervention Programme for lower-risk food businesses.
• Processing food business registrations and maintaining regulatory records.
• Supporting the Food Hygiene Rating Scheme and Food Standards Agency reporting requirements.
• Responding to enquiries from businesses, residents and partner organisations.
• Supporting food sampling, investigations, disease control work and enforcement activities.
• Maintaining and developing Salesforce systems, reports and data quality processes.
• Coordinating monitoring programmes, including invasive mosquito surveillance activities.
• Supporting project work and the introduction of new regulatory responsibilities.
• Assisting with statutory returns, procurement activities and team administration.
