Join Our Talent Pool as a Housing Support Worker – Make a Real Impact in the Lives of Vulnerable Adults

At Peabody, we’re committed to supporting adults who are homeless or have experienced rough sleeping to rebuild their lives. We’re creating a Talent Pool of compassionate, proactive individuals ready to provide practical and emotional support to those facing housing insecurity.

This is not a care role. It’s about empowering people to take steps toward stability and independence—helping them access housing, manage benefits, and develop essential life skills.

Where You’ll Be Working

We have services based in Hackney and Islington.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll work directly with adults who may be navigating complex challenges such as trauma, mental health issues, or substance misuse. Your role will involve:

  • Supporting individuals to access and sustain housing
  • Assisting with budgeting, benefits, and tenancy management
  • Creating a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental environment
  • Encouraging engagement in meaningful activities and community connections
  • Collaborating with colleagues and external agencies to ensure holistic support

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Builds trust and rapport with vulnerable adults, especially those with lived experience of homelessness
  • Is confident and creative in engaging people through shared interests or community activities
  • Can manage a caseload and work both independently and as part of a team
  • Has strong communication and IT skills, with knowledge of safeguarding and support planning
  • Brings transferable experience from housing, support work, social care, or related fields

Why Join Us?

When you join Peabody, you become part of a team that lives by our values:
Be Kind • Do the Right Thing • Love New Ideas • Celebrate Diversity • Keep Our Promises • Pull Together

We’re dedicated to creating a workplace where everyone feels supported, included, and empowered.

What You’ll Get

  • Up to 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Flexible benefits including healthcare, dental, and discounts
  • 4x Life Assurance and up to 10% pension contribution
  • Professional development, including funded apprenticeships
  • Two paid volunteering days each year
  • Family-friendly policies and a supportive team culture

Please Read Before Applying

This is a full-time, onsite role. You’ll need to be available to work five days a week, including weekends and bank holidays. Shifts may include early mornings and evenings, so flexibility is essential.

We’re reviewing applications as they come in, so keep an eye on your inbox and phone!

Please note: Peabody is not a licensed UK sponsor, so we’re unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.
