This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-profile, evidence-based initiative using the Marmot principles and focused on reducing inequalities and improving health along the Kent coast.

About the Role

As the Marmot Coastal Region Coordinator, you will work with the UCL Institute of Health Equity, departments and teams across Kent County Council and partners across local authorities, the NHS, VCSE sector, education and employers; you will help turn strategy into action.

A central focus of the role will be identifying, developing, and implementing Marmot Accelerator projects—practical interventions that support residents into training and good work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support development of the Marmot Coastal Region
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to embed Marmot principles locally
  • Identify opportunities for and lead on Marmot Accelerator projects, particularly those that:
  • Improve access to training and employment
  • Support people furthest from the labour market
  • Promote fair and good-quality work
  • Facilitate partnership working across statutory and voluntary sectors
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on progress and impact
  • Support engagement with local communities and stakeholders

About You

You will be:

  • An experienced coordinator or project manager with a strong understanding of public health or social policy
  • Skilled in partnership working across complex systems
  • Passionate about reducing inequalities and improving life chances
  • Able to translate strategy into practical, deliverable projects
  • A confident communicator with strong organisational skills

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to travel regularly across Kent to engage with partners and communities
  • Flexible approach to working across multiple locations and organisations

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a nationally recognised approach to reducing inequalities
  • Work at the heart of system-wide change in Kent
  • Shape innovative projects that make a real difference to people’s lives
  • Collaborate with a wide range of committed partners
