Kitchen Assistant

South Ferriby Primary School are looking for a temporary kitchen assistant in their school kitchen to cover sickness.

The hours will be 10:00am to 1:30pm, a total of 17 hours 30 minutes per week, term time only with 3 additional cleaning days.

Job Description

• Food preparation

• Serving meals

• Cleaning kitchen surfaces

• Setting up and cleaning of tables in dining hall

• Sweeping and mopping of floors

• Washing dishes, cutlery, containers and kitchen utensils

• Communication with school cook and office

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Desirable

• Food hygiene level 2

• Health & Safety Awareness

• Manual handling

• Experience of working in a school kitchen

• Experience of setting up and cleaning away equipment

Person Specification

• Punctual and reliable

• Flexibility to work across the kitchens within the federation

• Good communication skills and enjoyment for working with children

• Willing to learn new skills

• Computer literate
