    Job introduction

    Hove Learning Federation is comprised of West Hove Infant School and Hove Junior School, serving over 1,000 children. We are seeking to appoint a Learning Mentor to join our friendly, professional Inclusion Team.

    • Ability to communicate effectively, and engage with pupils, parents and staff
    • Ability to liaise with the inclusion manager and class teacher effectively
    • Ability to work co-operatively and intuitively as part of our successful team
    • Be self-motivated and have a commitment to personal development
    • Experience of managing challenging behaviour
    • Be aware of best practice to support medical, social and communication needs of children
    • Be able to plan, monitor and assess the child’s learning that is being supported
    • Contribute to the overall ethos / work / aims of the school

    This role will be working with a variety of children with additional needs across different year groups within Key Stage 1 and 2.

    Working days required – Thursdays and Fridays

    Working times required – 8.30am to 3.30pm

    Paid weeks per year: 47.36 (inclusive of holiday entitlement)

    Fixed term: Until 31 August 2026

    Start date: 23 February 2026

    About the role

    Employment under the Federated Board includes all locations/sites where both schools operate. Under this contract, you may be asked to work across different locations under the Federated Board, either temporarily or permanently.
