Contract type: Fixed Term Contract - 12 months (Maternity Cover)

About the Role

The Achievement and Support department is at the heart of the college and working as a Learning Mentor offers colleagues the opportunity to work within an experienced department and to make a real difference to students.

Your Responsibilities

Primarily the role involves delivering support strategies which will assist the student’s individual learning and social needs and their academic studies. You will also provide more wide-reaching support to all students at the College for example helping with revision strategies, time management and essay planning.

What we are looking for

We are looking to recruit two Learning Mentors to cover a period of maternity leave.

Candidates will ideally have experience of working with students with special education needs and will need to have excellent communication skills, be able to use their initiative and have a calm demeanour.

The two posts are full time (37 hours per week), term time only (plus 2 days) and are temporary for 12 months. Hours of work will be 8.30 am to 4.30 pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30 am to 4.00 pm on Fridays.

Part time hours or flexible working arrangements may be considered for suitable candidates, please indicate your preferences on your application form.
