Job Title Learning Support Assistant (One-to-One Support for a Named Student)

Reporting to SENDCo / Assistant SENDCo

Contract Type Fixed-term linked to a named student. The contract will continue for as long as the named student remains on roll at the school and the associated funding remains in place. The student will be in Year 9 in September 2026.

Hours 30 hours per week, 37 weeks (term time only)

Location Bullers Wood School for Boys

About the Role

We are seeking a caring, patient and committed individual to provide dedicated one-to-one support for a named student. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant and positive difference to a young person's educational experience, helping them to access learning, develop independence and achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff, the SEND team, parents/carers and external professionals to ensure the student receives consistent and effective support throughout their time at school.

This post is linked to the continued attendance of the named student at Bullers Wood School for Boys and will remain in place for as long as the student remains on roll at the school and funding is available.

Purpose of the Role

To provide high-quality one-to-one support for a named student, enabling them to access the curriculum, participate fully in school life and make progress academically, socially and emotionally.

The Learning Support Assistant will work under the direction of the SENDCo and teaching staff to implement agreed support strategies and interventions.

Interview Process

Candidates will be shortlisted, and successful candidates will be interviewed during the week beginning Monday 29th June.

  • have an opportunity to meet with staff.
  • be expected to conduct a task to test areas required as per the person specification.
  • attend a panel interview.
