Learning Support Practitioner (Specialism Behaviour) - Hanbury Primary School

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated, experienced and highly skilled LSP, to join our team of strong support staff. The role will require a high level of experience of working with children with complex social, emotional and mental health needs. The successful candidate would bring a wealth of experience of supporting the most vulnerable children, and would be able to form and maintain caring and trusting relationships. The successful candidate would be joining a positive, supportive and welcoming team. We have high expectations of both our children and our staff.

We are looking for a learning support practitioner who:
- Is passionate about making a difference to children, especially those who are experiencing difficulties
- Highly experienced with working with children with complex SEMH needs
- Remains calm under pressure
- Is positive and see the good in almost all situations
- Can work well as part of a team and also displays initiative
- Can form excellent caring and trusting relationships with our most vulnerable pupils
- Is patient but firm with rules and boundaries
- Is able to work with outside agencies and act on advice given

Shortlisting for interviews will also be subject to a successful lesson observation

Hanbury Primary School is committed to the welfare and safeguarding of all our children. As part of the appointment procedure all staff have to undergo a DBS disclosure which will report cautions as well as convictions.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and is eligible for an enhanced DBS check including a Children's Barring List Check. 32.5 hours per week, term time plus 5 training days

Band D SCP 9 - 17 (£28,153 - £32,046) pro rata (Actual salary £22,065 - £25,225)
