
Local Land Charges Officer
About the role
An opportunity has arisen to join our busy Local Land Charges Team, delivering a professional, customer-focused service on behalf of the Council. You will be responsible for processing and providing accurate and timely local authority searches and maintaining the Local Land Charges Register. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to excellent customer service.
The position will initially be based at Deene House, Corby, and the Municipal Offices, Kettering, before relocating to Haylock House, Kettering.

What will you be doing?
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a reliable Local Land Charges Service by processing official and personal searches, interrogating systems and documents, and updating records.
- Respond to email and telephone enquiries promptly and professionally.
- Maintain the Local Land Charges Register in compliance with the Local Land Charges Act 1975 and Local Land Charges Rules 1977.
- Support the transfer of the register to HM Land Registry, including data cleansing and digitisation.
About you
You will have excellent communication and IT skills, an analytical approach to work, and the ability to interpret maps. Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy are essential. You should be a proactive team player who can also work independently and build effective relationships with customers and stakeholders.
Previous experience in a Local Land Charges team is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Salary range
- £29,064 - £30,024 per year
