Lunchtime Supervisor (SMSA)


6.25 hours per week - term time only, fixed term for 1 year

Salary Scale point 3 £4,401 per annum (FTE £29,561)

We are looking for the right person to join our team of lunchtime supervisors who:

  • enjoys working with children;
  • gets on well with children;
  • has a calm manner;
  • is able to gain children’s respect;
  • communicates well;
  • is proactive and can make decisions;
  • has a flexible approach and can cope with the unexpected;
  • is confident in supporting children in developing positive friendships;
  • enjoys supporting children playing.

The role includes:

  • supervising, caring for and supporting children in the lunch hall and in the playground
  • preparing the hall for lunch and cleaning up during and after lunch

The hours are from 12:15 - 1:30 each day, Monday - Friday.


Your pay is averaged out over 12 months so that you receive pay through the school holiday periods.


Closing date for applications: 12 noon Friday 25th September 2026

Interviews will be held: w/c Monday 28th September 2026

The successful applicant should be ready to join our lunch team on Monday 5th October 2026.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, including a Children’s Barred List check, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE). The role may also be subject to additional pre-employment checks including prohibition from teaching checks, online searches of publicly available information, qualification verification, right to work checks and satisfactory references.

Salary range

  • £4,401 per year
