Manager – Care Home
Reporting to: Service Manager
Based: Wakefield District
What will be expected from me
We are looking to recruit an experienced manager to overall manage our care home based in the Wakefield District.
- Responsible for the overall management of the Care Home, providing a safe, caring, effective,
- Responsive and well-led service which will enhance the quality of life for those living at the home.
- To take a lead role in the development and improvement of the service provided within the Care home.
- To ensure that the home operates within CQC registration standards
- Create a dynamic caring environment which effectively supports service users and maximises their independence and dignity
- Provide effective and competent leadership within the home to enable the delivery of high quality, person centred, and residential care for individuals living in the home
- Ensure the potential capabilities of each person living in the home are recognised and they are provided with appropriate opportunities in response
- Promote emotional and social growth in each resident, recognising and fostering areas of strength and managing areas of weakness
- Manage staff teams to ensure that all CQC standards and regulations are met, or exceeded
- Manage staff to ensure that Environmental Health and Catering standards are met, or exceeded
- Manage staff to ensure that where possible appropriate links are fostered with relatives and friends of each resident
- Manage staff to ensure that progress of residents is regularly reviewed and documented
- To lead on the recruitment and selection of staff for the Home.
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 4 in Care and Management (or equivalent) Registered Managers Award (or equivalent) Level 5 Qualification in Management (or willingness to work towards this
- Excellent understanding of CQC regulations and standards Knowledge of good practice, findings from research and from inspections
- Extensive knowledge of the needs of older people
- Excellent knowledge of delivery of person-centred care, particularly in the context of the specialist nature of the care home.
