Job summary
Working in the Risk team, you will play a key role in strengthening and embedding effective risk management across the Agency. The Risk team focuses on proactive engagement with colleagues, building strong partnerships, and supporting risk‑aware decision making. You will join a skilled team committed to driving meaningful improvement in the application of risk policies, processes, and frameworks.

You will contribute to a range of impactful projects and play a central part in advancing our operational risk capabilities through both day‑to‑day delivery and innovative solutions. You will work closely with Senior Risk Leaders, delivering business support for financial management, business planning, action tracking and compliance monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives across the Risk team.
Job description
The key accountabilities and responsibilities associated with this post are varied. In summary, you will be comfortable in:
- Playing a key role in our Operational Risk function, providing high quality Second Line review and challenge of risks, incidents and controls.
- Coordinating business planning and provide administrative and organisational support to the wider Risk Team.
- Contributing to the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of risk policies, procedures, frameworks and guidance.
- Helping raise risk awareness across the organisation, supporting the ongoing improvement of risk culture and behaviours.

You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at all levels, and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as an operational risk team. You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade.
As an experienced risk professional, you’ll understand how to manage colleague expectations and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.
Person specification
Essential
- Experience of working within an enterprise and operational risk function within a large public or private organisation.
- A well-developed understanding of wider enterprise risk and change risk management principles.
- Practical experience of handling complex operational risk incidents.
- Experience of initiating, managing, tracking and reporting change and improvement workstreams.
- An ability to quickly understand, assimilate and document new and unfamiliar processes and procedures.
- Strong organisational skills, including the ability to manage and prioritise tasks based on priority and urgency. A strong grasp of financial data and management information and an ability to interpret analyse them.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, including excellent literacy, numeracy and attention to accuracy, quality and timeliness of detail when using complex data sets of variable quality and availability. Clear and unambiguous report writing aptitude is therefore essential.
- Demonstrates the ability to operate effectively in a professional environment, taking initiative to deliver time‑critical tasks with strong organisational and time‑management skills.
