Job title: Marketing and Communications Officer

    A bit about us:

Merseyside Sport Partnership (MSP) is one of 42 Active Partnerships across England working strategically with place based partners to embed movement, physical activity and sport as a way of improving people’s lives across the Liverpool City Region (LCR) with an equal, diverse and inclusive approach.

MSP is changing the story around movement, physical activity and sport. We believe that everyone, no matter who they are, should have the opportunity to be active. Because moving our bodies boosts our health and wellbeing like nothing else. It’s essential for us all. Together with our partners we’re designing physical activity back into life across Merseyside, and making sure that movement is accessible to everyone.

Whilst MSP is hosted by Liverpool City Council, our remit covers all six boroughs across the region. We have office space in the Cunard Building in the city centre, regular team and co-working days in venues across the region all blended with homeworking. MSP is committed to flexible working - we trust you to work in a way that suits you and that enables you to be your most productive and happy.

    The role:

    • As the Marketing and Communications Officer, you must be a dynamic individual with a positive ethos, capable of working effectively as part of a small team while also using your own initiative to take ownership of MSP’s brand and communication channels
    • The role of Marketing and Communications Officer involves developing and delivering MSP’s marketing and communications strategy, with a strong focus on embedding inclusive practices to ensure all communications and assets are inclusive, accessible and representative of our diverse communities. As part of this, you will be responsible for managing the website and social media strategy to maximise the voice for movement and physical activity and tackling inequality across the LCR. Your responsibilities will also include supporting the team in producing impactful case studies and storytelling, and upskilling team members to ensure they are confident in using marketing tools to support their work
    • The ideal candidate for the Marketing and Communications Officer role will be educated to a high level in a relevant specialism, have significant experience in a marketing / communications role, and have excellent interpersonal, creativity and time management skills

    Our offer to you:

    • At least 27 days holiday, plus bank holidays rising to 32 after 5 years’ service (pro rata if part time) - option to purchase further days
    • Agile working - a 'Flexibility First' approach to agile working, where flexibility is the norm rather than the exception
    • Part of the Local Government Pension Scheme - option to join the AVC Scheme
    • Progression - opportunities and training through a wide range of high quality learning
    • Health and Wellbeing offer including Employee Assistance Programme
    • Cycle to Work and Travel Pass Schemes
    • Drive Time - a salary sacrifice car lease scheme
    • Family friendly policies with enhanced leave
    • Discounted Gym Memberships
