What’s the role?

This Marketing and Sponsorship Lead is a brand new role in the Communications and Engagement team. We are looking for a snappy sales person to develop a marketing, sponsorship and income generation strategy for Lewisham Council, seeking to maximise income from advertising, sponsorship and other commercial activity from its assets, including events. As the role is brand new there is a lot of flexibility to make it your own, and really help us become more commercially focused and use our assets, physical and digital, to the best of our ability, as well as build relationships with partners that benefit the Council and its residents.

This role is temporary for 12 months.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for a commercially minded, self‑motivated professional with a strong track record of generating income in complex organisations. You will will blend creativity with strategic thinking, confidently identifying and developing innovative sponsorship opportunities. Personable and persuasive, you will excel at building relationships with businesses, partners and stakeholders. It's a new role, so you will need to be highly organised and resilient, and enjoy a fast‑paced environment.

Location

The job is primarily based in Laurence House, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.

Salary

£55,353.00 - £57,495.00 per annum (P05)

N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
