Job Description

Overview

The London Borough of Harrow is seeking a Marketing Assistant to support the growth and reputation of Harrow Arts Centre and Headstone Manor & Museum. This role will play a key part in positioning both sites as vibrant destination venues known for high‑quality, affordable and engaging cultural, artistic and heritage activities, as well as exceptional function spaces with outstanding customer service. The post holder will contribute to increasing income across the venues, focusing on—but not limited to—promoting ticketed events and generating bookings for spaces available for hire. Through effective marketing and creative promotion, the Marketing Assistant will help attract wider audiences, strengthen community engagement and enhance the visibility of Harrow’s cultural offer.
About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience of working and/or studying within an arts and marketing environment or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of arts marketing related software packages such as Spektrix, Dotmailer and experience of desktop publishing.
  • The ability to work well in a sales environment and successfully meet income and audience targets.
  • Experience of using the internet, social media and new technology methods for promotion and marketing.
  • The ability to work under pressure and to cope with a range of competing demands in challenging fast-paced situations.
  • An awareness of the importance of customer care, being responsive and considerate of customer needs and dealing effectively with a wide range of clients, partners and other stakeholders.
  • Intermediate/advanced level experience of word processing, spreadsheets and database systems.
