
Mental Heath Support Worker
We’re looking for a compassionate and committed Mental Health Support Worker to join our team in Welwyn Garden City. In this part-time role, you’ll support residents living with mental health challenges, helping them to build confidence, develop life skills and live independently. You’ll work in a person-centred, trauma-informed way, promoting recovery and wellbeing while protecting the rights and dignity of those you support. Every day brings the opportunity to make a meaningful difference, whether you're helping someone manage their medication, supporting them to maintain their tenancy, or simply being a trusted presence in their journey to independence.
What you’ll do
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you’ll carry out needs and risk assessments, develop support plans, and provide tailored assistance to residents. You’ll help customers sustain their housing, access services, and build strategies for independent living. You’ll maintain accurate records, liaise with internal teams and external agencies, and respond to safeguarding concerns in line with policy. You’ll also contribute to team meetings, training, and service development, ensuring that your work reflects Peabody’s values and commitment to excellent customer care.
This is a part time position, 20 hours per week. Hours are flexible however Tuesdays are preferred.
What you’ll need
- Experience supporting vulnerable adults, ideally within a mental health setting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with residents, colleagues, and external partners.
- Good IT literacy, including confidence using Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, equality and diversity, and health and safety in supported housing.
- A flexible, empathetic approach and willingness to work as part of a rota, including weekends.

Salary range
- £27,176 per year
