Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference to children’s lives every day? Shavington Primary School is seeking two enthusiastic and caring Midday Assistants to join our friendly and supportive team for the new school year in September 2026.

We are proud of our exceptional outdoor play environment: large open spaces where all children play together, from football and imaginative games to our ninja‑warrior‑style course and giant sandpit. It’s a vibrant, energetic setting where play really matters — and where you can make a genuine difference every day.

As a Midday Assistant, you will:

  • Supervise and support pupils during lunchtime, both in the dining hall and across our exciting outdoor play areas
  • Help set up and clear away in the dinner hall
  • Oversee and encourage safe and positive play, making sure all children are included
  • Be assigned a specific outdoor play space (such as the tree climbing area or sandpit) or work in the dining hall
  • Work closely with our staff team to ensure the smooth running of lunchtime
  • Be a positive role model for our children

We are looking for team players who are:

  • Friendly, energetic, and approachable
  • Able to use their initiative and respond flexibly
  • Passionate about helping children enjoy their school experience

This is a rewarding role at the heart of our school community, helping children enjoy one of the best parts of their day.

Shavington Primary School is part of The Learning Partnership Trust, formed in September 2023. At The Learning Partnership, we believe that there are three core facets of our mission –ambition, inclusion and opportunity. We are striving to build a community of the strongest people, inspiring a passion for education that galvanises these people to maximise their abilities, which supports all pupils to perform at their best.

The trust subscribes to the Education Staff Wellbeing Charter and places staff wellbeing at the forefront of its strategic people priorities. Our ongoing commitment in this area is reflected in our employee offer that includes:

  • Discounts in retail stores, entertainment, and supermarkets
  • Benefits schemes in affordable tech, cycle2work, gym memberships and a car scheme
  • Employee assistance programme providing specialist advice and guidance in a range of areas including menopause, financial management, and up to 8 counselling sessions per referral
  • Flexible working offered as a day 1 right of employment
  • Free parking
  • Access to high quality CPD and secondment opportunities

Hours: 8 hours and 45 mins a week, Monday to Friday (11.35am to 1.20pm)

Weeks: 38 (term time only)

Actual salary: £4929

Interviews are provisionally scheduled for the week commencing 6 July 2026

For an informal discussion about the role, please email sbm@shavingtonprimary.co.uk or call 01270 661527.

Please note Shavington Primary School reserve the right to interview candidates before the closing date, if suitable applications are received.
