Salary: £23.19 – £27.74 per hour pro rata (subject to terms and conditions and type of tuition and experience)
Casual Contract
Thurrock Music Services provides instrumental and vocal support for the schools in its area. It is currently seeking to recruit a forward thinking, dynamic and highly motivated-staff to its pool of part-time peripatetic instrumental/vocal tutors.
Tutors will be expected to deliver tuition to pupils in individual and group settings including whole class provision. A strategic aim of the music service is to expand its offer to pupils with SEND and those learning in alternative education settings.
Applications from all instrumental/vocal disciplines are welcomed, but the ability to teach one or more of the following: strings; lower brass; steel pans; flute; double reed; guitar; keyboard and urban styles. Formal qualifications (such as a music teaching diploma) and/or proven teaching/performing experience are an essential requirement.
Applications would also be welcome from musicians with experience working with children with SEND and/or in alternative education settings.
It is expected that tutors can drive and have access to a vehicle. An enhanced disclosure check with the Disclosure and Barring Service will be undertaken for this post
