Neighbourhood Manager (North East Region)

Are you a people person who loves getting things done and making a difference in your community? Do you believe in doing the right thing, keeping promises, and celebrating diversity? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re looking for a Neighbourhood Manager to be the face of our organisation in your area, working in your designated neighbourhood. You’ll be at the heart of our communities, supporting residents with everything from tenancy management to wellbeing and community safety. No two days are the same, and you’ll need to be comfortable having your photo displayed locally so residents know exactly who to go to for support.

Working Arrangements – Roaming Neighbourhood Manager (North East Region)

This is a roaming neighbourhood management role. You will hold a small, dedicated patch in Enfield, while also providing cover across the wider North East region when other Neighbourhood Managers are on leave or unavailable.

You’ll need to be flexible, organised and confident working across different neighbourhoods, adapting quickly to local priorities and ways of working. As a Peabody ambassador, you will represent our values in every area you support, building relationships, understanding the unique characteristics of each neighbourhood, and ensuring residents receive a consistent, high‑quality service.

Because this is a resident‑facing role, you will spend much of your time out in our communities, carrying out visits, resolving issues, and working closely with local partners.

There is a mandatory office day every Thursday in Chingford, and you will be expected to travel across the region regularly to meet service needs. The role requires a proactive approach to planning your week, balancing your home patch with regional support responsibilities.

Your typical day might include:

  • Welcoming new tenants and helping them settle in.
  • Attending a Residents’ Association meeting to listen and respond to local concerns.
  • Inspecting estates with colleagues from Repairs or Estates Services.
  • Supporting a vulnerable resident who needs your help.

You’ll actively work with residents in the management of their homes and neighbourhoods, developing and improving our services and ensuring we take full account of their needs.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Be the single point of contact for customers in your area, managing everything from complaints to lettings and community safety.
  • Create and deliver costed Neighbourhood Plans that improve satisfaction and performance.
  • Carry out estate, scheme and property inspections, identifying issues and capturing feedback to continuously improve services.
  • Champion customer engagement and ensure our services are accessible, high quality and value for money.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to build safe, inclusive and vibrant neighbourhoods.

What we’re looking for:

  • Someone who embodies our values:
Be kind. Do the right thing. Love new ideas. Celebrate diversity. Keep our promises. Pull together.
  • Experienced in a customer-facing role, ideally in housing management and preferably within the social housing sector.
  • Knowledgeable in tenancy and leasehold management and enforcement, with experience of safeguarding.
  • Resilient, compassionate and flexible with a positive, can-do approach.
  • Organised and able to self-manage a varied caseload, prioritising effectively.
  • Prepared to undertake a Level 3 qualification in Housing Management if not already held.

Why join us?

You’ll be part of a team that’s committed to making a real difference. We work simply, safely and smartly, always putting our customers first. We support each other, learn together, and celebrate success. We believe in creating a workplace where everyone feels supported, included, and empowered.

Here’s what you’ll get when you join us:

  • Flexible and hybrid working
  • 30 days' annual leave, plus bank holidays
  • Up to 10% pension contribution, matched 1:1
  • Two additional paid volunteering days each year
  • Flexible benefits scheme, including options for healthcare, dental care, and more

What to expect from our recruitment process

We’re committed to a fair, inclusive, and transparent recruitment process.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an in person interview and assessment on Monday 9 March at our offices in Islington.
